So, it's important to encourage everyone to take time off, spend time with family and friends, and to have sufficient time to pursue hobbies and interests.


Time away from work engaged in the things that give us joy or satisfaction help to offset stress in other areas, which may be workplace related stress. So, time to recharge and come back to work feeling refreshed and motivated is even more important for those people that pursue careers with higher levels of stress.


Staying active is another really good way to offset stress. And a healthy body leads to a healthy mind, so make sure your team is staying active both physically and mentally. You may choose to organise team sports or fitness activities so that everyone who wants to can get involved, and you may provide healthy snacks and beverages in place of a vending machine or sweet cupboard. But these gestures are not enough in isolation: business leaders have a responsibility, to build a supportive workplace culture that values wellbeing.


Finally, offering training and development opportunities is an important part of wellbeing, but it is often overlooked as it can be easier to focus on the more tangible tactics, like office fruit baskets or an early Friday finish. Providing training and development opportunities - and adequate time away from a workstation to study for any exams - is crucial to the workplace wellbeing of sales teams, because it demonstrates a commitment to their growth, fosters a sense of value and purpose, and enhances their professional skills.
